Modular Cabinets 101 for Philippine Homeowners

Introductory guide to modular cabinets — how they are made, delivered, and installed in condos and houses across the Philippines.

Modular cabinets are prefabricated box units — sides, tops, bottoms, backs, and doors — produced in a shop and assembled on site. They differ from stick-built carpentry where raw lumber is cut room-by-room in your home.

Advantages

  • Predictable lead times once designs are approved
  • Cleaner installation with less sawdust
  • Easier to replicate identical modules (kitchen runs, closet banks)
  • Often lower cost for standardized sizes

Limitations

Odd room angles may need filler panels or on-site scribing. Very heavy stone tops require separate structural planning. Extremely bespoke curves are sometimes better suited to custom carpentry.

Typical project steps

  1. Site measurement and design approval
  2. Fabrication at the shop (1–3+ weeks depending on queue)
  3. Delivery and assembly
  4. Final adjustment of doors and drawers
